About Jim Marshall

With almost four decades of experience, I have been your trusted real estate companion in Parry Sound since 1985. My intricate comprehension of our neighbourhood’s every nook and cranny, the lakes, and the nearby communities is my secret sauce for providing invaluable insights to my clients. My knowledge and network are available for everything from vacant lots to waterfront cottages, from first homes to forever homes.

While real estate is my calling, my heart belongs to my family. My wife, Kim, has been my rock for over 33 years, and together, we’ve seen our three sons grow into fine men. The family’s latest addition, our granddaughter Sophia, has filled our lives with renewed joy. Our Portuguese Waterdog, Mac, completes our picture. Despite my packed schedule, I never miss a chance to explore the beautiful Parry Sound with them, whether aboard our boat in the summer or travelling across the globe during our slower season.

My roots in the community run deep. From being the Chair of our local Museum Board and the vice-chair of the Parry Sound Library to serving the Humphrey-Rosseau-Chistie Planning Board in the ’90s, I’ve worn many hats. More recently, I completed a four-year term as a Councillor for the Town of Parry Sound, led the Parry Sound Real Estate Board for two terms, and sat on the Canadian Real Estate Association’s MLS® and Technology Committee for four years.

Music is my solace. The piano, guitar, and bass are my companions. My love for music remains unchanged, from jamming in local bands during high school to jamming on Saturday nights in Orrville with other music enthusiasts.

  8. Bought my first house at 22 for a mere $23,500. ($141 per month mortgage payment).
  9. My first car was a 1971 Cutlass Supreme.
  10. I almost reached the provincial championship round with my high school’s Reach for the Top team in 1983.
